Dear Preschool parents,

I would just like to start out by saying thank you for allowing me to be apart of your child’s life. Hawaiian Luau Week

I am very sorry that there was no school Tuesday. Bethany came down with the fever and flu that went through the day care and the school, so it really couldn't be helped.

Because we missed Tuesday we are carrying the letter L into next week as well. The new February Calendar will reflect the change.

Our Luau was so very exiciting. The kids made sun puppets, sang songs about summer, and even had a chance to play with our new school parachute that was purchased with our fundraising money. We watched a short video about fun on an island in the summer sun, and made icecream sundaes.. It was a fabulious day. The kids loved wearing their summer clothes and dancing around in their flip flops. Can't forget the lunch on their beach towels or the millions of beans that were spread around the room as a result of my bright idea of a learning center.

All in all, it went AWSOME!!!!!!!

Back to the real world next week. :)

Happy New YEAR!!! Fun for January

Dear Begindergarten Parents,
January is going to be extra exciting in the classroom.. I am tierd of the cold, and will be helping the kids explore there way through many new units this month. For starters, this week we kick off our unit on I is for ice, icesicles, and Igloos. We will be doing science projects in which the children will be learning about what makes snow, ice, and the freezing process. We will be both making ice and melting it as well.

Next week we will be doing an extra fun unit on Peanut butter and J is for JELLY. We will me making homemade peanut butter and making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches as well as learning about peanuts, and jelly themselves.

The following week we will kick off our Healthy Eating unit and start talking about the importance of putting healthy foods in our body. This unit will continue on for weeks, and your helping in bringing snacks from the various food groups will help greatly.

For Letter L, we will be having a Hawaiian Luau. With all of this cold and snow, what better way for us to take a break from it all, but going on an imaginary journey to Hawaii. We will be making Hawaiian flowers, having a sack lunch with our swim suits and beach towels, and will even be making pina coladas.. Sound fun ha?? I can't wait.

Letter M will be our Unit on Mittens and much fun and excitmemt is planned this week as well.

Aside from all of these fun activites, we will be starting out unit on numbers, so we may begin to learn our phone numbers, and will be starting our address memorization as well. BUSY BUSY...

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL... This is going to be a great year in Preschool!!!!!!!
